KSCB needed a digital banking platform that could streamline business banking for clients while providing administrators with robust tools to manage accounts, transactions, and compliance. The existing systems were fragmented, manual, and slow, resulting in delayed services and reduced user satisfaction.
Goals 🎯
Design a user-friendly, scalable B2B online banking solution that:
Ensure the app is intuitive and easy to use.
Create a solution that caters the need of the users and become a conversation among them.
Differentiate the app from existing competitors in the current market.

Discover & Define

Problem Analysis
Understanding the unique banking needs and behaviors of the target demographic was crucial. All users often seek convenience & speed in their financial interactions.
Research
To gain insights, the following methods were used:
a. Focus Group Inputs:
Participant 1: “We use internet banking but it feels built for individuals, not businesses. Handling multiple staff logins is tough.”
Participant 2: “We mostly depend on offline transactions at the branch because online systems are not reliable for bulk payments.”
Participant 3:“Our staff prepares payments, but I have to manually log in and check everything again, which takes time.”
b. User Interviews:
Participant 1: "We use internet banking, but it feels designed for personal use. For company payments, it’s confusing and not efficient."
Participant 2: "I handle three accounts across different cooperative banks. Switching between them wastes a lot of time."
Participant 4: "Switching accounts is the biggest issue. We need a single dashboard where balances and transactions from all accounts are visible at once."
Participant 5: "Right now, I download monthly statements manually from each bank and merge them in Excel. It takes hours."
Research Findings: These set of features are desired

a) A quicker and faster method to make payments.
b. Creating groups for splitting bills.
Ideate & Deliver 💡

1. Ideation Process
Based on the pain points and requirements gathered from user interviews and focus groups, I facilitated brainstorming workshops with stakeholders and the design team.
Mapped pain points → opportunity areas (e.g., “multiple accounts → unified dashboard”).
Applied design thinking techniques such as:
Crazy 8s for rapid sketching of transaction flows.
How Might We statements to reframe challenges.
User journey mapping to visualize bottlenecks in current workflows.
Prioritized ideas using Impact vs. Effort matrix to define MVP features.
Key Ideas Generated:
Unified dashboard for multi-account management.
Role-based workflows (staff → manager approval).
Real-time approval notifications.
Bulk transaction upload for payroll.
2.Conceptualization & Wireframing
Created low-fidelity wireframes in Figma to validate the core workflows.
Conducted guerrilla usability tests with 5 business clients to refine navigation and task flows.
3.High-Fidelity Prototyping
Translated wireframes into high-fidelity UI mockups using a modern, clean design system.
Ensured consistency in typography, spacing, and color usage for trust and readability.
Designed responsive screens for mobile application.
4. Testing & Iteration
Conducted usability testing sessions with 8 participants (business clients + admins).
Key findings:
Users loved the one-click approval flow on mobile.
Reporting filters needed clearer labels → redesigned filter menu.
Beneficiary management was simplified after adding “Saved Payees.”
Iterated designs based on feedback before handoff.
Deliver - Design

Although the project is at the prototype stage, the following outcomes are anticipated upon the app's launch:
Increased User Engagement: With features that resonate with users, the app is expected to see high levels of engagement and frequent usage.
Positive User Feedback: Initial user testing indicates strong satisfaction with the features.
Smooth Handoff: Collaborated with developers using Figma Inspect for smooth handoff.
Conclusion
This project highlights my experience in user research and designing intuitive, user-centric banking solutions. By understanding the needs of the target demographic and creating innovative features that address those needs, the app is reduced transaction approval time. “Finally, this feels like a system built for businesses, not individuals.”
